Higham Parish Council

GARDENS FOR PLEASURE COMPETITION 2010

[ Back to: Home page ]

This is an annual competition organised by HIGHAM PARISH COUNCIL and judged on our behalf by Mr Morton Grey, retired local government horticultural expert.   There are no entry forms for parishioners to complete as every front garden in the village is considered when the judges tour the Parish looking for gardens that give the passer-by the most visual pleasure.  In reaching a final decision the judges award points for colour, choice of plants and cultivation, and the overall design of the garden.

Debbie Hunt and Graham Edwards of Lake Drive, Higham are the 2010 overall winners and photographs of their splendid garden are shown below.  The full list of other prizewinners are set out below.  Prize awards were announced by Cllr. Stuart Wright while Morton Grey presented the prizes at a presentation prior to the 6th September 2010 Parish Council Meeting. Our sincere congratulations to all the winners.
