Imagine a warm, balmy Kent July summers' evening...being outdoors with friends and loved ones...a picnic...plentiful liquid refreshments...live music...
Do you get the picture?

Then that is just what happened for the second year running on Higham Recreation Ground.  The Medway Band came and performed magnificently at the Higham Friday Night at the Proms on 2nd July 2010. The Band treated the audience to a selection of music ranging from In the Mood through Emblem of Unity and Bubbles was a Cheerleader to the Fantasia on British Sea Songs.   Towards the end the audience joined in singing Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory. Finally, as a tribute to our British Armed Forces & Veterans, to the tune of Sunset, Evening Hymn and the Last Post the 1st Higham Scouts lowered the Union Flag in a Colours ceremony.

Higham Parish Council who organised this village event wishes to thank everyone for coming, the food and drink stall holders, St Johns Ambulance for first-aid cover, anyone (you know who you are...) who worked hard to prepare for the Proms, and, of course, the Medway Band for their polished performance.

Below are some photographs of the evening.  See Higham Proms 2009.
