Higham Parish Council
GARDENS FOR PLEASURE COMPETITION 2009
[ Back to: Home page ]
This is an annual competition organised by HIGHAM PARISH
COUNCIL and judged on our behalf by MORTON GREY, retired local government horticultural
expert. There are no entry forms for parishioners to complete as every
front garden in the village is considered when the judges tour the Parish looking
for gardens that give the passer-by the most visual pleasure. In reaching a
final decision the judges award points for colour, choice of plants and cultivation,
and the overall design of the garden.
This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the competition. Anne and Rob Miles of Highwoods Close, Higham are the 2009 overall winners and photographs of their splendid garden are shown below. The full list of other prizewinners and photographs of them receiving their awards from the Vice-Chairman of Higham Parish Council, COUNCILLOR STUART WRIGHT, at a presentation prior to the 14th September Parish Council Meeting.
