>>> Look...Higham Proms 2010 is on Friday 2nd July. Get more details<<<
Imagine a warm, balmy Kent July summers' evening...being outdoors with friends and loved ones...a picnic...plentiful liquid refreshments...live music...
Do you get the picture?
Then that is just what happened on Higham Recreation Ground when the Kent Messenger Medway Band came and performed magnificently at the Higham Proms on Friday evening, 3rd July 2009.
The Band treated the audience to a selection of music ranging from Midwest March through A Disney Fantasy and 633 Squadron to the Pomp and Circumstance March. Towards the end the audience joined in singing Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory. Finally, as a tribute to our British Armed Forces & Veterans, to the tune of Sunset, Evening Hymn and the Last Post saw 1st Higham Scouts lower the Union Flag in a Colours ceremony.
Higham Parish Council who organised this village event wishes to thank everyone for coming, the food and drink stall holders, St Johns Ambulance for first-aid cover, anyone (you know who you are...) who worked hard to prepare for the Proms, and, of course, the
Kent Messenger Medway Band for their polished performance.
Below are some photographs of the evening. Please click here for many more. Enjoy!
