We thank the pupils of Higham County Primary School for taking part in the School Essay Competition and very much hope that this will become an annual event.

What I like about Higham

I live just outside Higham and although I do not live here I still like many things about the small village.

Higham is very small and particularly comforting.  This makes it safer to go to shops and other places.  In Lower Higham, there is a train station, which makes it easier to go to London.

Higham is only fifteen minutes away from Bluewater so people can go shopping for food in the food stores.

In Higham there are shops only a ten minute walk away, for some only ten seconds.  There is also a library with all different books and computers if someone needs to use one for something like homework and studying.

The community in Higham is very kind and welcoming.  Everyone is very friendly and takes care of each other, even in different age groups.

Higham has historic land marks like Gad’s Hill School where Charles Dickens used to live.  The small village also has many acres of land, green and lush.  Higham is so clean it looks untouched.

These are the things I like about Higham especially Higham Primary School, where you get the best education, with kind caring teachers, and a watching traffic warden.

I think Higham is a community of kindness and working friendship.

What I like about Higham

I used to live in Higham and it was lovely!  I do not know what it was that I liked so much about Higham, but I think it was the countryside, with the horses and all of the fields which make Higham look so spacious.

The second thing which I like about Higham is the Church.  A lovely old building where you can go and pray.  It is a lovely place to go to.  Higham Primary School go there generally two or three times a year for special occasions.

Higham has a lovely neighbourhood.  Everyone is nice to you wherever you go.

There are lots of clubs in Higham such as: Claire Buckley School of Dancing, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Stage Arts, Youth Club and Emma’s Street Dance.  All of the clubs are fun and there are even more.

It is nice in Higham because there are various types of shops including: the Beauty Salon, Chinese, Fish-n-Chips, Greengrocers and all of the corner shops.

All in all, Higham is a lovely village and I am proud to be part of the community.

What I like about Higham

There are many things that I like about Higham.  I enjoy the school, it is extremely colourful, (well our classroom is anyway).  There are many fantastic clubs: Art club, Rugby club, Netball club, Computer club, Football club and Guitar club.  As well as all these interesting clubs, the field and many playgrounds are right outside our door.  The view is beautiful; it looks right on to the marshes and the River Thames, which constantly has large ships trundling along it.

I like the shops: they have food and all the compulsory things.  The post office is handy: I can post letters to all my friends.  I like these as well as all the fields to walk our dogs on.
